Backdate - December 2018

Just for the record I am going to back date the blog -

First weekend in December I flew down to Palmerston North - the girls had been learning  ballet and it was their first dancing recital ( may be their last - not sure if they will continue). I was to be the designated hair and make up specialist for their three performances. I went fully equipped with hairpins gel and lacquer - the prospect of putting Annabelle's hair into plaits was a challenge!)
Suffice to say - we managed - the first performance was a bit of a rush - home from school and then a quick feed and spent over an hour ( and had to call on Amy to help) to get the hair plaited but we got there and my two little reindeer didnt let the side down. Being a "dance mother" was a first time experience - quite a culture of its own!

We got through the next two performances on the Saturday - and it was quite fun. Glad I had the opportunity to do it!
Watching the movie - Male bonding time.

Then on the last day of school Cordelia got her wish and flew solo up to Nana's with Annabelle following the next day - they stayed four days  and we had all sorts of fun. I will let the photos speak for themselves - although dont look too closely at the gingerbread men - I need more practice in the icing department!. Although most of the animals at the zoo seemed to be sleeping somewhere shady, they apparently enjoyed themselves!

The highlight of the visit was dressing up in the dance costumes Aunty Catherine had sent, playing make believe games on my crutches and various cooking experiments.

We called in to say goodbye to Grandad.

So that was the beginning of December -      quite fun! With more than a few Christmas parties for the various groups I belong to I didnt get started on my own preparations till after the girls went!
